I had a chance to chat it up with Bobby about the BET Awards, his family and new music.

With a brief hiatus a part, performing as BBD(Michael Bivins, Ricky Bell and Ronnie DeVoe) and The Heads of State(Ralph Tresvant, Bobby Brown and Johnny Gill), the guys all met up in Atlanta to rehearse for their upcoming tour dates with the entire group!

That’s right New Edition……Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky, Ralph, Mike and Johnny are coming to a city near you!

Their first stop is the Essence Festival in New Orleans, this weekend.

According to Bobby, they had been rehearsing at least eight hours a day, to bring the N.E to the stage that everyone knows and loves!

Showing his softer side, Bobby also said that he was having separation anxiety from being away from his precious son Cassius, who is usually on the road with the singer.

He said that he put pictures of his two and a half year old son, with wife Alicia Ethridge, all around the rehearsal studio.

And check this out…..

Bobby, who is also a grandfather, said he’s not done spreading his seed!  *wide-eyed*

Dayum B….you’re gonna be singing ‘My Prerogative’ til you 80!!  LOLO

He said that he and Alicia are working on another baby, sometime in December.

And that he wants two more boys and one more girl……which would bring him to a total of eight kids.

I also couldn’t resist asking Bobby about the ‘House Husband’s of Hollywood’ parody that he did on the BET awards with Nelly, Nick Cannon, Kevin Hart, and Jermaine Dupri.

He said although the skit was scripted, they often ad libded and laughed the entire time.

I think they need to turn that into a show…..

MAYBE something like an ‘In Living Color’……. it was no doubt the best part of the awards!! *comedy*

And of course I mentioned Alexander O’Neal’s H.A.M of a performance!

Bobby and Ralph both laughed and said ole Alex had his furniture stolen…..

MEANING his teeth were missing!  LOLOL

According to the tea, Alex was flying high before the show…..

AND was floating even higher as soon as he hit the dressing room after.

Bobby, no stranger to drug addiction, proudly told me he has been clean for about six years…..

BUT he will have an alcoholic beverage every now then. As long as its in moderation he’s okay!

Its evident with Alexander O’Neal and Whitney Houston, that drugs and alcohol abuse can damage the vocal cords.

But ole Bobby has been blessed to still have his voice.

He was in the studio recording for his latest solo album titled, ‘The Masterpiece’.

I had a chance to hear him laying down vocals for his single ‘Don’t Let Me Die Girl’

And let me tell you something….. It is a HIT!!!

Stuart House is a one-stop center which provides help and support to abused children.

The Miami Heat star has been granted full custody of his kids.

After an extensive, sometimes ugly, court battle with his ex-wife Siohvaughn Wade, the judge recently ruled in the NBA player’s favor!

“My life changed in a huge way,” Wade told the AP. “Mentally, I’ve been preparing for it for over a year now. To me, it’s bigger than that. For me, it shows a lot of people that you need to fight to be in your kids’ lives sometimes. You fight until you can’t fight any more. That’s all I was trying to be, a father in his kids’ lives.”

A Chicago court granted Wade sole “care, custody, and control” for his two young sons……Zaire Blessing Dwyane and Zion Malachi Airamis Wade.

Sources say, Wade did not immediately announce the decision after receiving word Friday, trying to make sure that his sons fully understood what it meant first.

Siohvaughn will have what the court described as “regular parenting time”, on alternating weekends in Miami, as well as several other times during the year, including Mother’s Day.

This is great news for Dwayne, whom I’ve had the chance to interact with, at various events.

He’s a very humble and personable guy and most likely an even better father!

But, I also have sympathy for Siohvaughn……to loose her husband, who was her high school sweetheart and now her kids, has to be devastating.

Especially, knowing they are going to be around Dwayne’s new girlfriend Gabrielle Union a.k.a “the other woman!”

The Harvey -vs- Ex-Harvey saga continues…..

A representative for Comedian Steve Harvey says a Texas judge has given them permission to prove his innocence to the public!

Documents have been released as evidence that Harvey’s ex-wife has not been truthful about finances, custody of their son and the reason for their divorce.

Mary, pictured above, began spilling all of the Harvey tea, in a series of Youtube posts, tv and radio interviews, basically saying that the radio host, author, and actor left her high and dry for his current wife Marjorie!

According to reports, despite the gag order issued during the divorce proceedings in 2005, the Honorable Judge Dry of the District Court in Collin County has temporarily lifted the order “so that Steve Harvey will have the opportunity to set the record straight with the hope that the plethora of media outlets that reported these false allegations will now report the truth.”

Aikman, who is now a Fox football analyst, told the Dallas Morning News that it was a “difficult decision!”

They have two daughters!

I’ve actually heard that the divorce rate for athletes, who retire, is extremely high!

When they are on the road, playing and have limited time with the fam….things are fine.

An Akron, Ohio mother was sentenced to jail for sending her kids to a school outside of their district!

Judge Patricia Cosgrove sentenced Kelley Williams-Bolar to 10 days in jail for tampering with records so that her daughters could attend a school in a better district!

SMH!!

Williams-Bolar is a single mother who worked during the day as a teacher’s assistant with special education students in the Akron public school system. After work, she was attending college, preparing to become a teacher.

Williams-Bolar lives in an Akron public housing community. She wanted her daughters to attend school in the Copley-Fairlawn School District so that they could be safe with an adult while she pursued her degree.

Although Williams-Bolar was released a day earlier, following request from her family, friends, and pastor she must still fulfill her other requirements…..

Which include 80 hours of community service and court supervision for two years!

How sad is this?

If that’s the case my mother and I’m sure plenty others would be sent to jail!

I was supposed to attend Piper High, a predominantly white school …..

But begged my mother to allow me to attend Dillard, our neighboring black magnet school, which was also her and my oldest sister’s alma mateur!

With a little bit of address tweeking…….I graduated from Dillard High School!

All of the other hideous crimes going on, they wasted time and money to put this lady in jail and now ruin her life!
