Legendary ‘Soul Train’ founder Don Cornelius dead from an apparent suicide!

Details HEREThis morning, the world was surprised and saddened by the untimely death of Don Cornelius!

The L.A. County Coroner’s Department confirmed that Cornelius’ cause of death was a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

According to reports, the 75 year old TV mogul was dealing with years of turmoil and pain.

In 1982, Cornelius underwent a 21-hour operation to correct a congenital malformation in blood vessels in his brain.

His personal life also suffered……

In 2008, he was arrested for felony domestic violence against his estranged wife, Victoria Avila-Cornelius.

In 2009, he plead no contest to one count of “corporal injury resulting in traumatic condition of a spouse,” was put on probation for 36 months, and ordered to pay over $1,000 in fines.

Victoria also filed multiple restraining orders against him.

Its definitely a universal loss!

Cornelius will be remembered as a pioneer and legend of African American media!

TV & Radio personality Ryan Seacrest sealed a heavy deal with Clear Channel Media!

DETAILS HEREToday, Clear Channel announced it was becoming a minority partner in Ryan Seacrest Media, infusing up to $300 million into his business through its two major investors, Thomas H. Lee Partners and Bain Capital.

That money will buy and develop companies, content and other properties.

In a statement issued today, Abdul said……

“Yes, it’s true; I won’t be returning to The X Factor next season. I’ve learned through my longevity in this industry that business decisions often times override personal considerations.  Simon [Cowell] and I, along with Fox and Fremantle, have been communicating about this for a while now, and I have absolute understanding of the situation.”

Simon is, and will remain a dear friend of mine and I’ve treasured my experience working this past season with my extended family at Fox and Fremantle. I want nothing more than for The X Factor to exceed ALL of their wildest dreams. This truly has been a blessing and I am most grateful.”

Cowell issued this statement……..

“I want to say a massive thank you to Paula, Nicole and Steve for being part of The X Factor last year. I’m sure all three are going to have massive success in what they do next, but now is the time to thank them all for everything they did last year.”

It’s unsure as to who will fill the three vacant slots!

According to reports, CBS television is scripting several shows around the “Martin” star!

TV Guide says, Larry Wilmore, creator of “The Bernie Mac Show”, and Tom Hertz, “Rules of Engagement” creator, both have projects that will star Lawrence.

In the Wilmore script, Lawrence would play a single man who, along with his sister, becomes a foster parent to several children.

Hertz’s sitcom would have Lawrence starring as a family man trying to keep his kids grounded while dealing with his wealthy in-laws.

Which one do you think will get the green light?

We’ll know in a few weeks!

Hell, I’ll just be happy to see a scripted sitcom……

Erica Campbell, the second half of the Gospel group Mary Mary, delivered a healthy baby girl on Tuesday night!

According to the tea, baby Zaya Monique weighed 6 pounds, 12 ounces!

It’s the third child for Campbell and her hubby, producer-songwriter Warryn Campbell.

The Grammy winning songstress said she was blessed by the baby’s birth and said the family “couldn’t be more happy than we are today.”

Mary Mary, known for hits like “Shackles” and “God in Me,” is comprised of Erica and her sister Tina.

The duo have a self-titled reality show that debuts March 29 on We TV.

‘Austin Powers’ actor Joseph Hyungmin Son was sentenced to life in prison for rape and torture!

DETAILS HERE Joseph Hyungmin Son, didn’t just play Doctor Evil’s henchman, in the hit movie ‘Austin Powers’, he lived it!

According to reports, Son was found guilty in the 1990 Christmas Eve gang rape and torture of a woman taking a walk to see the seasonal lights!

Prosecutors say a woman walking back to her apartment alone with her dog after going to look at Christmas lights with a relative and friend was stopped by Son about 12:30 a.m. on Christmas Eve.

Son, allegedly asked her for directions and then with another man dragged her to their car, threw her in the back and drove away.

Son and his cohort Santiago Lopez Gaitan then repeatedly raped, sodomized and forced the victim to orally copulate them in the back of the car.

Son, 40, was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole…..

Gaitan, 40, who plead guilty, received 17 years and four months!

According to the Hot Tea Honey, Travolta, who is in the A shooting a film co-starring Robert De Niro, was with three friends at The Palm on Tuesday night.

The thriller, “Killing Season”, features De Niro playing an American military veteran who has retreated to a remote cabin in the Appalachian Mountains, where he strikes up an unlikely friendship with a European tourist (Travolta) who’s actually a former Serbian soldier bent on revenge.

Its being shot in the North Georgia, Rabun County and the surrounding areas

’30 Rock’ star Tracy Morgan was rushed to a Utah hospital after collapsing at an event during the Sundance Film Festival.

According to reports, the comedian turned actor, was being honored by the Creative Coalition Spotlight Awards when he passed out!

Today, Tracy joked with Twitter followers…..

“Superman ran into a little kryptonite. The high altitude in Utah shook up this kid from Brooklyn.”  He went on to thank the hospital staff for their efforts.

Rumors were swarming that Morgan appeared drunk on the red carpet…..

He was escorted out of the building following his acceptance speech, where he fell unconscious and was rushed to the hospital.

His rep Lewis Kay claims Morgan collapse because of Park City’s high altitude (Utah’s elevation is around 7,000 feet), and that “exhaustion” was the reason for the hospitalization.

A hospital rep also confirmed that any reports of Tracy consuming alcohol are 100% false.

The 43 year old suffers from diabetes and underwent a kidney transplant two years ago.
