Mourning and current Miami Heat player Dwyane Wade, have established the Athletes Relief Fund for Haiti, which has already raised over $1 million in aid for Haiti.
Fellow NBA pros who have contributed so far include LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers. New Orleans Hornets player Chris Paul, who donated noted $61,000 of his $100,000 donation in the name of his murdered grandfather; Carmelo Anthony of the Denver Nuggets, Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant, Atlanta Hawks’ Al Horford, Quentin Richardson of the Miami Heat.
NFL players Washington Redskins’ Clinton Portis(pictured above), Michael Vick of the Philadelphia Eagles, New England Patriot star Randy Moss, the Buffalo Bills’ Terrell Owens, and the Cleveland Browns’ Joshua Cribbs contributed too, among others, according to reports.
Even suspended athletes NBA star Gilbert Arenas and NFL player Donte Stallworth are supporting the cause.
I’m sure there are tons of other athletes, who are joining in with their communities, foundations, and organizations to help the people of Haiti.
