I travel all the time, but just recently I’ve become a little nervous about hopping on the silver bird. Here are a few tips that I’ve found, that may be helpful as you fly the friendly skies.
1. Say a prayer, meditation, or words of encouragement. I find this to be the best advice and most relaxing method.

2. Don’t conceal it. Let the attendant and those around you know that you are nervous. No need to suffer in silence.
3. At check-in ask for a seat near the front. Turbulence is usually much greater in the back of the aircraft.
4. Keep busy. Watch the in flight movie, take plenty of reading material, do puzzles or anything to keep your mind occupied. I like to bring along my laptop to do work or play games.
5. Avoid coffee or other caffeine products it causes jitters and hinders you from relaxing. Some recommend a glass of wine to calm your nerves but don’t over do it and get blitzed in the air.
6. Listen to your favorite songs. Bring your mp3 player and relax.
7. Ride the turbulence. Think of them as slight bumps in the road. Don’t tense up, let your body move with the waves. Take deep breathes in and out and don’t forget to say a prayer!
